Over 2 million people, including more than 772,000 children, have been impacted by flash floods in Bangladesh and are in urgent need of assistance.

As the waters continue to rise, children are the most at risk, facing dangers such as drowning, malnutrition, deadly waterborne diseases, the trauma of displacement, and potential abuse in overcrowded shelters.

Local media reports highlight the dire situation of those trapped by floodwaters, struggling with food shortages and a lack of clean water.

The flooding has affected approximately 964,000 people in Sylhet and 792,000 in Sunamganj. Authorities have established over 6,000 shelters to aid the displaced.
