Pakistan is facing one of the worst floods in decades. Relentless monsoon rains, overflowing rivers, and sudden dam releases have triggered a humanitarian disaster across Punjab and beyond. Entire villages have been swallowed by water, families forced to flee their homes, and once-fertile farmland reduced to muddy wastelands.

  • Over 2 million people affected

  • Thousands of villages submerged

  • More than 849 lives lost and 1,100+ injured

  • Millions at risk of hunger, homelessness, and disease

The human cost is staggering. Families who had little to begin with have now lost everything — homes, crops, livestock, and loved ones. Rescue teams have evacuated more than 850,000 people using boats and drones, yet many remain stranded without safe shelter, food, or medical aid.

The economic toll: Farms destroyed, livelihoods shattered

Punjab is the breadbasket of Pakistan, producing rice, sugarcane, maize, cotton, and vegetables. These floods have drowned thousands of acres of farmland, leaving not just local families hungry, but also threatening national food security and key exports. Cotton supplies, essential to Pakistan’s textile industry, are now under severe threat — endangering jobs and worsening inflation.

This crisis is not just about water today — it will echo in lost harvests, rising food prices, and economic hardship for months to come.

How Al Ianah is responding

At Al Ianah, we are committed to standing with our brothers and sisters in their time of greatest need. With your support, we are:

Delivering emergency food packs — essential staples to keep families nourished.
Providing clean drinking water — preventing the spread of waterborne disease.
Supporting displaced families with shelter kits and essentials — giving protection and dignity to those who lost their homes.
Offering medical aid — supplying urgent treatment and hygiene kits to prevent outbreaks.
Helping communities rebuild livelihoods — once the waters recede, we will support recovery through farming inputs and livelihood assistance.

Our teams and partners are already on the ground, prioritising the most vulnerable — including children, widows, and the elderly — who face the greatest risks in times of disaster.
